Pencil Skirt

This pencil skirt is not very hard to sew but takes time.  If you can follow all the steps, you can sew a pencil skirt that will fit you perfectly.  I make this skirt longer because I like it longer.  You can make it just below the knees.

Pattern:

I use centimeter instead of inch.  It is more precise this way.  Something new to adjust for some of you.
*The right side is FRONT; the left is BACK.
*To measure the distance between waist line to hip line, you can sit down on a chair then measure from your waist to the chair. (my is 26 cm, for your reference)

Now let's get started!

1.  Make your pattern

It should look somewhat like this.

2. Cut out your pattern and pin it to the fabric.

Don't forget to add seam.  The front piece should be aligned with the fold and the back piece with the edge of the fabric.

3.  Start cutting.

Do remember to cut the lining and apply interfacing.

4.  Sew the darts.  Sewing the darts is kind of annoying but they do make the skirt look better on you.  You have totally 8 darts to sew. (including the lining)  After sewing the darts, you can go ahead and serge all the pieces.

5. You should have no problem assemble the pieces into a skirt.  The only problem could be the slit on the back.  I forgo to take a picture of it.  You can observe other skirts with slits and figure it out.

HAVE FUN SEWING!!
